An der schönen blauen Donau

As days get shorter, my regular bike rides shorten, too, but never stop. Double socks provided, temperatures in deepest Viennese winter still permit two-wheeled escapes from the main city to the shores of the blue Danube, but at the same time restrict my radius to a relatively narrow area between the hydropower plant Freudenau and the Kahlenberg. This photo book tries to capture the quiet beauty of the foggy landscape I encounter on these rides. Prints on the rear side of multiple layers of transparent paper mimic hazy views on the empty Danube and its often deserted surroundings. The book is jointly designed and produced by hand with graphic designer Stefanie Hoffmann.
